Project: Green Field API Production Facility Automation
Client: Multinational Pharmaceutical Company

Project Summary

This project entailed the process automation for a green field API pharmaceutical facility. Design, configuration, build and validation (to GAMP) of a 1400 I/O integrated DeltaV Control System utilising Stahl remote I/O for 2 Production Cells, Filter Dryers, Milling, Steam Stripper, Tank Farm and Utilities.

Software Design and Configuration

• Development of Software Prototype and Standards.
• Design and Documentation (Functional Specification (FS), Design Specification (DS), and Software Module Design Specifications (SMDS)).
• Configuration of Graphics, Interlocks, Software Control Modules, Equipment Modules, Phase Modules and Recipes.
• Configuration of Customised Batch Reports.

Hardware Design and Implementation

• Design, Procurement, Build and Supply of Integrated Hardware Solution.
• Documentation (Functional Specification (FS) and Design Specification (DS), Panel Drawings, Wiring Drawings and Network Drawings).
• Integrated System Architecture and Network Design.
• Design and Construction of 2 DeltaV Safe Area Panels.
• Design and Construction of 22 Stahl Remote I/O Zone 1 Hazardous Area Panels.
• Design and Construction of 2 PC and Network Component Panels.
• Construction completed by ProsCon’s Panel Shop.

Validation Documentation and Protocol Execution

• Preparation and Execution of Software Module Test Specifications (SMTS).
• Preparation and Execution of Software and Hardware Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Protocols.
• Preparation and Execution of Software and Hardware Site Acceptance Test (SAT) Protocols.
